Sing out loud about what worries you...and about what makes you happy!
Especially people who suffer from depression benefit immensely from the act of singing when they find themselves in a dark place. Furthermore, singing makes for a wonderful activity for teenagers who often seem to be lost in their own world, feeling trapped between adult- and childhood.
A sad song can ease a troubled mind
Your negative thoughts and fears can cause an unbalanced and clogged-up mind. Don’t let emotions and feelings, within you, pile up. Instead, face these feelings by actually feeling them; understanding them and ultimately letting them go. At times, we may not want to talk about or express our problems to the people around us – so sing a song, you believe reflects your current feelings and you will be surprised about how much better it can make you feel altogether.
Singing may be magical, but it is not magic
You can count on Oxytocin which is just one of the many great hormones released during singing. Amongst its many great qualities, it has been found to ease stress as well as anxiety. Singing also brings people together by promoting feelings of trust as well as bonding and thus reducing feelings of depression and loneliness.
Let your soul sing and you will feel better
Finally, singing is not only helpful when you have the blues, it can also be an excellent activity for when you’re feeling great already! Sing when you’re happy and enjoy a brilliant boost of energy!
